Iowa Senate Democratic Leader Janice Weiner and Iowa State Senator Renee Hardman have released the following statement on the death of Declan Coady.
“My heart is broken today for the Coady family as they grieve this unimaginable loss,” Sen. Janice Weiner said. “SPC Coady’s service and ultimate sacrifice will not soon be forgotten. May his memory be for a blessing. As the situation overseas escalates, I pray for the safety of all U.S. troops in harm’s way.”
“My thoughts, and those of the entire West Des Moines community, are with the Coady family today,” Sen. Renee Hardman said. “I am profoundly moved by Declan Coady’s service to our country. Let’s honor his bravery and sacrifice by treasuring the indelible mark his life has left on our community.”
