Meet Liz Bennett

Liz Bennett is a State Representative from Cedar Rapids. Now serving her fourth term in the State House, Liz passionate advocacy is known for

her for the people of her district and for having the courage to do what is right, even when it’s politically difficult.

Liz has been endorsed by Sen. Rob Hogg, Sen. Claire Celsi, Rep. Kirsten Running-Marquardt, Former Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer, and may others. Read more here.

Liz is running for State Senate in Cedar Rapids because in these political times, Iowa needs proven, progressive leadership with heart.

As a young professional, former trainer for a tech company and 11 year veteran of the tech industry in Iowa,  Liz has a special understanding of the types of skills today’s children need in order to be successful in the workforce, as well as the types of jobs Iowa needs.

Known for her skill in building working relationships, Liz is one of few Democrats in the State House to have written and passed legislation under Republican leadership.

Outside of the legislature, Liz is a member of American Federation of Musicians (AFM Local 137), volunteers with the German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Iowa, and is a former volunteer for Cedar Rapids AniMeals. She has served on the Iowa Governor’s Council STEM Advisory Council and currently serves on the Kirkwood Community College Liberal Arts Advisory Committee.
