Meet Steve Gorman
Lifelong Council Bluffs resident, retired firefighter, and current City Councilman, Steve Gorman is ready to take on Senator Dan Dawson in Senate District 10. Steve’s commitment to his community and relentless work ethic prepares him to win in November.
Steve Gorman is a 4th generation Iowan who was born and raised in Council Bluffs. He graduated from St. Albert Catholic High School in 1981, where he met his wife of 39 years, Chris, with whom he has two grown children. He has spent most of his life working as a journeyman electrician and as a firefighter, retiring from the Council Bluffs Fire Department, after 30 years of service. His wife Chris retired from the Council Bluffs Community School District, after 33 years of classroom teaching. Steve is currently elected to the Council Bluffs city council.
Steve has dedicated his life to serving the most vulnerable citizens in his community. He recognizes the need in District 10 and across the state, for new leadership. In the State Senate, he will advocate for a stronger Public Education system, a liveable wage, and freedom to health care from government overreach.
