Meet Eric Giddens
Eric Giddens is serving his first full term in the Iowa State Senate. He was first elected in a special election in March 2019 and then re-elected in 2020 to represent Senate District 30, which includes the southwest portion of Waterloo and the cities of Hudson and Cedar Falls in Black Hawk County.
Senator Giddens is ranking member on the Transportation and Veterans Affairs committees. He also serves on the Administration & Regulation Budget, Education, and State Government committees.
Senator Giddens and his wife, Kendra Wohlert, own and operate The Ragged Edge Art Bar and Gallery in Cedar Falls. Formerly, Senator Giddens was a Program Manager at the Center for Energy and Environmental Education at the University of Northern Iowa where he led a program to help local governments increase the adoption of environmental sustainability and resilience practices. He is also a former member of the Cedar Falls Board of Education.
In the Cedar Falls/Waterloo community, Senator Giddens serves on the Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa Board of Directors and the Dry Run Creek Advisory Board. He is also an active participant in the Cedar Valley Economic Inclusion Network.
Eric and Kendra are the proud parents of Henry, a student at Cedar Falls High School.
