For too long, survivors of sexual abuse have held the entire liability for the long-term effects of the abuse they suffered. It is time to shift the cost back where it belongs, to the perpetrator and to the organizations who covered up for them.
Senate Democratic Leader Zach Wahls has appointed attorney and community leader Jazmin Newton of Davenport to the Temporary Redistricting Advisory Commission. The Commission gathers input from Iowans about new maps that will be drawn for legislative and Congressional districts, based on Census data.
